A note about measurements: Knife edge length is shorter than stated, as Sakai knives are measured from the front of the handle to the tip. Additionally, some knives feature a small 'machi' gap between the handle and blade.

"Cuts beautifully - makes prep work so much easier. The blade and handle are beautiful, and the shape is very ergonomic while still being aesthetically pleasing."
"This is an excellent knife, good shape, good balance and excellent steel. Typical of #1 white steel, it's pretty brittle and I did chip it pretty quickly. Had to re-contour the blade but that was easily done. It holds an edge and is relatively easy to sharpen. I'm more careful of it now."
"Picked mine up from the Calgary store yesterday, and holy geebus it's gooooood. Yes, the ootb edge needs touching up, however once that's done it's a phenomenal blade."
"The blade came dull, but I wasn’t sure because it was my first knife. Thankfully I have a shop nearby and they helped me sharpen it for free!"
