The Hori Hori Knife is a cross between a knife and a trowel. It is great for dividing perennials and, with centimetre markings on the blade, it is handy for planting at the correct depth. It is also great for weeding, cutting roots, transplanting, and removing plants.
Traditionally called a "Sansai Hori", which translates to "Mountain Vegetable Digging", it originated as a general-purpose foraging tool that over time has found its way into the garden in North America due to its versatility. With a serrated edge on one side and a sharpened edge on the other it is a great addition to many gardener's tool collections.
The Hori Hori Knife comes with a leather sheath with a belt loop for those looking to always be prepared for hori needs.
