Excellent experience

Great class by the friendly and knowledgeable team at Knifewear Toronto. Clear explanation of the techniques and you never feel rushed. With the $75 credit and getting two (formerly) whole chickens to take home, the class is very affordable. You get to try a variety of honesuki knives which is helpful if you are planning to purchase one after (I did and I love it). After the class they laid out all of the honesuki knives available and explained how they differ from one another. Another great thing about the staff is they never try to upsell you on anything; they provide all of the info and you decide what works for you. I would definitely recommend to others.

Get the knowledge you need to expertly prepare chicken at home.

One of our favourite knife styles is the honesuki or Japanese poultry knife. If you enjoy prepping yakitori or just want to learn how to break down a chicken to make chicken and waffles, a honesuki, combined with the knowledge of how to use it, is a great addition to your arsenal.

For $150, you will receive two chickens from a local, sustainable butcher to learn on and a $75 credit to you in-store towards your very own honesuki or boning knife. One of our staff will teach you how to break down the birds in preparation for two recipes: buttermilk fried chicken and Yakitori, which you will then finish preparing at home.

This is a very small class with a lot of one-on-one learning so space is extremely limited. Halal chicken options are available by request.

Already have a Honesuki? You can use the credit from the included knife towards anything else in the store.
