Reviews
Knife Class Toronto location
"Just attended a knife sharpening class taught by Robbie — he was patient and broke down every step for sharpening blades by hand. Over the last month I've also bought a bunch of knives both online and in-store, and the staff has been incredibly helpful every time. Highly recommend visiting and supporting this local Canadian business!"

Great Informative Class
"I thought the class was very interesting and informative about knife sharpening. I learned a lot about sharpening techniques. I really enjoyed the hands on part of the session. The two hours flew by and I wish we had more time to sharpen our knives. Definitely a great course if you want to sharpen your own knives properly. The store and staff are very welcoming and extremely knowledgeable about knives."

Sharpening class highly recommended
"I cannot recommend this sharpening class more highly. I have tried previously, on my own, several times to sharpen with whetstones using youtube videos for guidance. All of these attempts failed to result in a sharp knife. The instructors at Knifewear were amazing, not only showing and explaining the process but especially in correcting the many mistakes I was making. By the end of the class I had the sharpest knife I had ever owned. If you want to learn to sharpen knives, take this class."

Knife Sharpening Class was fantastic!
"The knife sharpening class and it was fantastic, the instructor was very knowledgable and explained things well. I've always been curious how to use a whetstone and it was satisfying to learn with hands on experience, plus my old knife is sharpened! It was a worthwhile experience and I was glad to have done it."

Sharpening Class.
"I had a great time at the sharpening class. I travelled from Kitchener and It was totally worth the travel time. (here to hoping they open a Kitchener store) Everyone at the store was very helpful, friendly and kind. I felt welcomed which is very hard to come by specifically in retail enviroment. I had a basic understanding of using stones but needed some extra guidance because i felt that i was not getting the edge i wanted from my knives. Robbie did a great job at helping me clear some of those doubts. I had a few more questions but i'm pretty sure folks at knifewear would be more than helpful to answer those when I visit next time. I had a pleasure of talking to Miachel at the store who let me try some of the knives I always wanted to try and help me guide for my future possible purchases. As ex industry person Miachel was very good at answering very task specific questions I had about some specific knives and shapes. I would highly recommend this class to everyone."

Knife Sharpening
"Amazing guidance and long lasting education. Ryan allowed me to get the edge on the situation and gave me skills to hone moving forward. The course gave us a foundation to develop not only skills, but a passion for knife maintenance. I recommend it for anyone wishing to bridge the gap between user and custodian. Thank you."

Amazing experience
"I never knew how much I wanted to know how to sharpen knives until I took this course. Took it with my best friend, we both have a passion for cooking, and nerd out about cooking related equipment. The knife wear"

Q&A
Is there still any spot for sharpening knives class on Thursday, 7/27?
Hi Iven, There are! You can book in here: https://knifewear.com/products/knife-sharpening-classes-vancouver - Let me know i you have any other questions! - Ellie
How many knives can I bring to class?
Hey there, we recommend bring 1-2 knives, it depends on how quickly you pick it up, most people will able sharpen 1 or 2 knives in the time we have for the class - Ellie
Can I bring hunting knives as well? How many do you recommend? Cheers
Hey! Learning to sharpen on a hunting knife will be more difficult than learning on a chef's knife so we recommend bringing at least one chef's knife and then you could bring a hunting knife to try out after you pick up the skills on a chef's knife
If I book a class a couple months ahead, can I cancel or reschedule?
Hi Troy, you absolutely can! Just give us a bit of noticed (48 hours minimum) and we'll move you to another class. - Ellie
Hello, Can I bring an axe instead of kitchen knives to sharpen? Cheers, Gio
Hello Gio, unfortunately axes are quite different to sharpen, so they're not included in the class. If you bring a couple of knives, we could always give you pointers for the axe before or after the class!
