Knifewear Stores are Open Canada-wide!
Our COVID-19 response is designed to reduce the risk of our staff contracting COVID-19 and to prevent further spread to the public in our shops. As we know, people can be infected with the virus for up to two weeks, and can be contagious without being symptomatic.
We have worked with ER doctors, a consultant with experience in Hong Kong during/after the SARS outbreak, other concerned business owners as well as following the guidelines of all levels of government in our cities.
The two ways that the COVID-19 virus spreads is:
-
Droplet spread - droplets sprayed into the air when an infected person coughs, talks moistly, or sneezes.
-
Fomites - contaminated surfaces where the virus has landed. People can pick the virus up on their hands and then touch their eyes, nose or mouth (routes through which the virus can enter the body).
Staff and customers wearing masks while in the shops is the best defence against droplet spread. A strict hand wash/ sanitize regime is the best way to prevent fomite spread. Keeping a physical distance of two meters is our secondary line of defence against droplet spread. Our protocols are based on reducing the spread of the virus.
While we are open again, there are many things we can do to help you online, so you can stay safe and avoid coming into our shops. We have reduced shipping rates in our home cities, drop-off sharpening, and someone on our online chat every day from 9am to 9pm, who is ready to help you. We can help you narrow down your selection to 3-5 products, so you can spend the minimal amount of times in our shops making your final decision.
The main points of our action plan are as follows:
- Ordering from our websites is encouraged, with curbside pick up as an option. We have free shipping over $50 if you are within Calgary, Edmonton, Ottawa, or Vancouver.
- Curbside pickup is available in Calgary, Edmonton, Ottawa, and Vancouver for all products in-stock at that store. You will be notified on the product page if your item is available for pickup, and you can select the pickup item at checkout. Once you've paid, please wait to be contacted for the appropriate pickup time.
- Curbside sharpening pickup and drop-off is available and encouraged. Please make sure to clean your knives well, and transport them in blade-guards which can be sanitized upon arrival and departure. You can learn more about our current sharpening services here.
- If you are unwell with COVID-19 symptoms, please do not enter the shop.
- Customers with COVID-19 symptoms will be asked to leave and to take the government’s self assessment online and do as directed.
- All staff will wear masks 100% of the time they are in the shops.
- We will be limiting the number of people in each store, based on distancing needs.
- All visitors to the shop will wear a mask and sanitize their hands when they enter the shop 100% of the time. Disposable masks will be given to visitors without a mask.
- Every hour we will have the Power Hour where staff stop what we are doing, and sanitize our work areas.
- We will have a Hygiene Ambassador at the front door of the shop to greet customers, outline the rules, provide masks, and sanitize hands of people entering the shop.
- We are now a cash free business. Only debit and credit cards will be accepted. Pin pad will be sanitized after every use.
Please follow these easy steps to keep yourself and those around you safe. To minimize person-to-person contact, we have lots of services available to help you avoid entering our shops. Please contact us if you ever have questions. Our curbside services are as follows:
Curbside Orders
All orders made at Knifewear.com can be picked up curbside, if the items are in stock in your local store. If you are placing an order for curbside pickup, please do the following:
- Select curbside pickup for your city at checkout. If the option is not available, those items cannot be picked-up via curbside.
- After placing your order, please allow 24-48 hours for the local store to contact you to arrange pickup.
- Once you have been contacted, you can swing by the store at the available times to pick up your order.
Don’t forget, we also have free shipping over $50 within Calgary, Edmonton, Ottawa, and Vancouver. We offer free shipping over $200 to the rest of North America. Please expect a few days for the order to ship as we are experiencing high order volumes, and understand that shipping companies are experiencing delays at the moment, due to a huge increase in shipments.
