B.C. Wildfires

B.C. Wildfires

Knifewear believes that when your neighbours need a hand, you extend one without hesitation. In May of 2016, when fire ravaged Fort McMurray and the surrounding area, we at Knifewear knew we needed to help our neighbours. The most effective way to accomplish that was to donate to the Red Cross. Last May, we sent 100% of our sharpening proceeds from all of our stores to the Alberta Red Cross Fires Appeal. We are proud to say that we and our customers raised $18,300.

This year many of our B.C. neighbours are going through a very similar situations, due to the over 200 wildfires currently burning in that province. Thousands of people have been evacuated and it's almost certain that many more will be in the days to come. Having opened our Vancouver store just last year, we wanted to help those who have welcomed us with open arms. The B.C. Red Cross fires appeal will need help, and we hope to be able to provide some relief. Once again, we are donating 100% of our sharpening proceeds for the month of July.
We urge all of our customers to bring in all their household sharpening. Kitchen and pocket knives, axes, straight razors, scissors, garden shears. Whatever you require. We can make these items cut like new again, and you can feel good that you're getting a "free sharpening" for donating to a very important cause.

If by some chance you do not have anything in your home to sharpen, we urge you to donate directly to the Red Cross British Columbia Fires Appeal

Throughout the year, both Knifewear and Kent of Inglewood normally gives 50% off their sharpening proceeds to local charities benefiting a variety of causes. Each store gives to a charity in their own city, with the exception of times like these when the need is felt nationally.
