About Yoshikane Hamono - A Japanese knife-making company in Sanjo City, Niigata, has over 100 years of history. Founded in 1919, the company has been handcrafting knives for generations in this small Japanese town known for its metalware. Under the leadership of 4th generation artisan Kazuomi Yamamoto, they continue to uphold the traditional way of knife making with unwavering dedication.
About the Shape - The Bunka looks like a bonafide badass. It is a multi purpose knife akin to the Santoku. “Bunka” translates to “culture.” A cross between the Nakiri and Gyuto, Bunkas can do it all. It’s the best of both worlds with the volume cranked to 11.
