Reviews

Excellent class if you are thinking about it just do it!

"I have started to look into and get into the world of Japanese knives and purchased two. Wanting to be able to sharpen them myself thought I should take the class. It was excellent lots of good information and able to get hands on with a lot of the gear they sell to help figure out what you want to purchase. Colin did the class and he was awesome. Can’t recommend it enough!"

Informative and good fun.

"- I enjoyed myself at this class. Our instructor was easy to understand and entertaining. The first half of the class was informative. The second half was hands on with a chance to apply the learned skills. Overall it was well worth the money for anyone who is interested to learn to sharpen their own knives."

I am now the sharpest knife in the drawer

"I already had some basic sharpening practice, but wanted to really learn proper technique to get the most out of my knives and sharpening stones. Maddie was a fantastic teacher who gave fantastic instructions and very specific and useful feedback. She was also hilarious and made the whole class feel like hanging out with friends. My knives have never been sharper. No tomato is safe."

Q&A

Is there still any spot for sharpening knives class on Thursday, 7/27?
Hi Iven, There are! You can book in here: https://knifewear.com/products/knife-sharpening-classes-vancouver - Let me know i you have any other questions! - Ellie
How many knives can I bring to class?
Hey there, we recommend bring 1-2 knives, it depends on how quickly you pick it up, most people will able sharpen 1 or 2 knives in the time we have for the class - Ellie
Can I bring hunting knives as well? How many do you recommend? Cheers
Hey! Learning to sharpen on a hunting knife will be more difficult than learning on a chef's knife so we recommend bringing at least one chef's knife and then you could bring a hunting knife to try out after you pick up the skills on a chef's knife
If I book a class a couple months ahead, can I cancel or reschedule?
Hi Troy, you absolutely can! Just give us a bit of noticed (48 hours minimum) and we'll move you to another class. - Ellie
Hello, Can I bring an axe instead of kitchen knives to sharpen? Cheers, Gio
Hello Gio, unfortunately axes are quite different to sharpen, so they're not included in the class. If you bring a couple of knives, we could always give you pointers for the axe before or after the class!
