The “Higonokami Sada Kanekoma” or HIGO is a traditional Japanese pocket knife that dates back to 1894. Now being forged by fifth-generation blacksmith Mitsuo Nagao, the company decided to make the “short knife” a folding blade four generations ago, and thus the HIGO was born. They are crafted with steel from the Yasugi District thru a process called “the fire polishing”…how cool is that?
The Kanji on the blade translates to "Higo no Kami Sada Kanekoma".

Lives in my back pocket
"Great little pocket knife that takes a reasonable amount of abuse. I use it nearly everyday cut heavy plastic straps and open boxes, and on occasion use the lever as a screwdriver. Got a little rust at the start due to working in a somewhat wet environment, but scrubbed it off an now the surface has a solid patina. Awesome small knife for the price point."
"This is my favoutire present to give my friends and family. Great for the kitchen, car, pocket, camping, etc. It is inexpensive and the quality is amazing. I’ve had one for over five years that is still going strong."
Awesome pocket knife
"This is a great pocket knife and extremely sharp. I’ve had my eye on it for a while and it kept selling out but I finally got my hands on one and I’m happy I did. I ended up buying 3 more for gifts. I would definitely recommend getting one. As well, every time I go in, the service is amazing and everyone is so helpful!"
Great simple folder
"I had seen ads for the store and then found myself out front as I was working near by. I picked this up kind spur of the moment. I am so pleased with it. It does exactly what I expect. Price is great. People are always intrigued by it when they see it."
It’s a Higo. What’s not to love?
"It’s a Higo. Basic knife, but the beauty is in its simplicity. Not a “tactical” folder, but a traditional knife like a French Opinel. I carry a bunch of knives at work. A tactical folder for work related tasks; an Opinel if I get attacked by a chub of salami or chunk of cheese and the Higo for smaller tasks like opening letters, sharpening pencils, etc. I also have the small Higo hidden in my duty belt (in case SHTF). The question is, force patina or not?"
Great little knife
"Great little knife to have on you, has a small hole in the rear of the handle to add a key ring, functional and low profile and a great everyday carry tool"
Great Value
"Great value for a convenient and beautiful little knife."
My favourite folder!
"As someone who collects high end EDC knives from brands like benchmade and CRKT, I am in love with this simple folding knife. The craftsmanship and design is simple yet expertly made. This knife gets sharper than most and holds an edge to its grave. 10/10"
