Knifewear donates $18,300 in wake of Fort McMurray fires
Just like many of you, we were awed by the horrible images of the gigantic wildfire that threatened and burned parts of Fort McMurray. We knew we needed to pitch in and help our neighbours, even if it was only from a distance. Our normal practice is to give half the proceeds from our knife sharpening to a charity, but considering the urgent need for resources, we decided that now wasn’t the time for half measures.

Knifewear has donated 100% of it’s sharpening proceeds from the month of May to the Red Cross Alberta Fires Appeal. Thanks to our generous customers this total ended up being a whopping total of $18,300. We had restaurants bring every knife in the place to get done, some people paid for sharpenings that we would normally give for free, some just straight up donated the money in their pockets. Knifewear really has the best customers in the world. We hope that this money makes a difference to the residents of Fort Mac, and can help future efforts.
